I have been learning to write an antonym diamante poem.   An antonym means the opposite.  My poem is about summer Christmas and winter Christmas. I found this tricky because it was hard to think of the words. My next step is to do another poem.

i have been learning to proofread my work. proofreading is important because your work will not make scene and it will also be hard to read.I found this tricky because I am sill learning to proofread. My next step is to do an other one but a little bit harder.

Point of view

I have been learning to relate to the characters in the text to understand their purpose. In this activity I had to think about two characters point of view to help me understand the story more. I found this interesting because of all of the activity were really fun to do. Something I found really tricky was the evidence from the text. My next step is to do a harder activity.

Maori Guardian Art

My Reflection

We read a myth about how Maori believe the world began. It was called in the beginning. We learnt about some of the Maori Guardians I choose to draw Tangaroa I wrote some adjectives to describe Tangaroa. I found this activity hard because it was hard to copy the picture.

I all ready knew all the times. My next step is to learn harder times.

My Fractured Fairytale - The cheeky fox and the gingerbread man

We have been learning to write an interesting narrative story for an audience. We decided to write a fractured fairy tale. First we learnt about the structure of a narrative, then we compared fairy tales. After that we chose a fairy tale to change and make our own version of. I think I did well was naming the characters.One thing I need to work on is not coopering the book. My next step is to try a harder fairy tale.

Ice cream in a bag experiment

This term we have been learning about Matter. We did an experiment to observe the changes of two types of Matter. The best part of this is making ice cream.

We have been learning to find lines of symmetry in shapes. I found this tricky because I didn't know all the symmetry lines. My next step is to do harder maths.

We have been learning about mixing colors to make tints, tones and shades. A tint is a color mixed with white. A shade is a color mixed with black. A tone is a color mixed with black and white. I found this hard because drawing the people is difficult. My silhouette is of an Olympic pole vaulter.

I have been learning to recognise and described 3D shapes. I found this hard because I didn't know these shapes.My next step is to learn harder 3D shapes.

We have been learning to use onomatopoeia in our writing. We wrote an acrostic poem  about the EPS Olympics day. Can you see how many onomatopoeia words I used? My next step is to use wow words.

I have been learning to add ed or ing to the end of words.  I found this tricky because I didn know some of these words like tape.  My next step is to keep learning this.

We have been learning to write a haiku and a acrostic poem. My favorite poem to write was the haiku poem because the haiku poem was more short than the acrostic poem. These poems are both very different because the haiku poem is more short than the acrostic poem. The hardest poem to write is the acrostic poem because it was more longer than the haiku poem. My next step is to learn harder poems.

I have been learning to match fractions to pictures correctly. I found this easy because we learnt for about 4 weeks. My next step is to learn harder fractions.

I have been learning to use repeated addition.I found this easy because practice at home. My next step is to learn division basic facts off by heart.

Explanation Writing

I have been learning to write a simple explanation. This is the process I used
to write my explanation with a budy. First we did a brainstorm using popplet to find information. Then we used a framework to help us draft our explanation. Lastly we published  our explanation. I learnt that reaching isn't easy. I found this hard because when we were researching information we had to find lots of facts.  My next step is to make my writing more inter3esting.

Finding and Summarising Information

I have been learning to find and summarise information. Fist we read a story about albatross and then we read a story about eagles.  I found this tricky because finding the facts were a little bit tricky. My next step is to keep practising finding and summarising information.

I have been learning to use language fetchers to suit the purpose of my writing. I have used similes, onomatopoeia and adjectives to make my writing more interesting. I got a lot better at using language features. My next step is to put more similes in our stories.      

Term 2, Week 2 Diary Post

Dear Diary,

It has been a fantastic start to term 2. There were lots of experiments going on last week . Last week it was Inquiry Launch Day. Inquiry Launch Day is all about our Inquiry. The workshops were the glop experiment and lava lamps also the feely bags and the egg experiment as well as the video in the auditorium. All so last week we were  so exited that we were doing gymnastics that when we got there nothing was set up so we couldn't do gymnastics.

I have been learning to combine numbers to make ten.  I found this tricky because it was hard doing this with 2 digit numbers.  My next step is to get more confident at doing this my practising some more.

Finding and summarising information

My Reflection
I have been learning to find and summarise information.  We read two non-Fiction books.  One was about Albatrosses and one was about Eagles. Then we used a venn diagram to compare them.
The most challenging thing was finding facts about Albatrosses and Eagles.  My next step is to keep working on summarising information.

Our Trip to Te Tuhi

             

Last week
A few days ago we went to te tuhi . We did the wish you were here workshop. This is my picture. I hope enjoyed it because we got to panint it was fun!
